Wolves fans spoke to Nathan Judah as Nuno's men edged past QPR to go 13 points clear.
Alfred N'Diaye opened the score in the 12th minute when he turned in Ivan Cavaleiro's cross and then Cavaleiro turned provider again for the second when handing Helder Costa a tap-in.
QPR pulled a goal back after half time when Conor Washington's spectacular overhead kick beat John Ruddy and Wolves rode their luck several times in a poor second half display.
Conor Coady cleared off the line in the final minute but Nuno's team saw it through.
