And the Icelandic striker says he has no regrets over leaving Molineux to join Reading.

Bodvarsson spent a year with Wolves after moving from Kaiserslautern in August 2016.

Asked whether he had any regrets about leaving, he said: "No, not really.

"I didn't even see (Wolves' success) coming. It's a totally different team from last season to now.

"There have been a lot of changes to the club in general including the coaching staff, the fitness staff and the players so you look at it and you want that success as well.

"Nothing is given, everything is earned. I am just focusing myself on Reading and doing well with them."

Bodvarsson only netted three times for Wolves but was a popular player with both fans and team mates.

He wished his former club all the best in their promotion challenge this season.

"I think it looks good for them and it wouldn't surprise me (if they won the league)," he added.

"They have a top team and even if they don't play well then they get three points.

"It's a good club in general, the fans are unbelievable and I wish them all the best."

Bodvarsson has also scored three games for Reading so far albeit in a stop-start opening few months at the Madejski due to injury.

"It was frustrating at the beginning because I had lots of knocks and little injuries," he said.

"I never got a fresh start as I wanted to but even with all that adversity I've still done okay.

"We've had some losses and draws recently and were not getting the points but hopefully that is changing."
