Wolves have earned 35 points from their opening 16 matches and sit top of the pile with a third of the campaign gone.

Douglas starred in Friday's 2-0 win over Fulham at Molineux, earning the man of the match award.

And he thinks Nuno's detailed work behind the scenes is playing an important role in the team's recent success.

"He's good, he's very in-depth tactically and know what he wants and how we wants us to play," Douglas said of his boss.

"We're reaping the rewards of that. You see how well we're playing.

"On Friday we were solid as a team and got the two goals from set pieces. It's nice to win in different ways.

"It's always nice to win a get a clean sheet. It's something to build on going into the break and the next game.

"We won't get carried away, it's a long season, we need to keep going.

"We know the quality we have but it's important we don't get too carried away.

Douglas created both goals on Friday, with a corner and a free kick from the Scot converted by Romain Saiss and Leo Bonatini.

He added: "I'm always confident when we get set pieces that if I put the ball in the right area we've got people in there who can score.

"I think it's good to have that variety of goals. It's a positive for the team and nice for myself to be involved.

"It's nice to have a variety of ways to score and keep the pressure off the forward guys as well.

And the left wing back said the players weren't distracted by reports of Everton being interested in Nuno for their vacant manager's job.

"We're just focused on football, that's the other side of things," he said.
