There is no tougher fixture in English football at the moment, but Nuno's men will relish testing themselves against the very best in the country.

Nathan Judah takes a look at five danger men who could pose a major threat at the Etihad.

1. Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero (AMA)

Whether Sergio Aguero starts against Wolves is open to debate, but the Argentinian has a huge incentive to get on the scoresheet.

Aguero's penalty against Burnley at the weekend was the 177th of his City career, equalling the the club record set by 1930's star Eric Brook.

The 29-year-old has made a remarkable recovery after damaging ribs in a car crash in Amsterdam earlier this month.

And manager Pep Guardiola has already hinted his main striker may get the chance to break that record in the Carabao Cup.

"Sergio has not played for three weeks and it takes time to get that little bit of rhythm back," said Guardiola.

"He needs to play minutes, he did it today and maybe on Tuesday again."

2. Ilkay Gundogan

Ilkay Gundogan (AMA)

Ilkay Gundogan is a nailed on starter against Wolves on Tuesday night.

The German international was in superb form last year before tearing cruciate ligaments in his right knee that forced him to miss the rest of the season.

Gundogan has now fully recovered and is being eased back into action will all league appearances to date coming from the bench.

His sole start came in the Carabao Cup at West Brom in the previous round, a game where he left early through injury.

But the 26-year-old allayed initial fears of more time on the treatment table and will be looking to get forward from midfield at every opportunity.

3. Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling (AMA)

Sterling has been in sensational form for City this season, scoring eight goals in all competitions to date.

The England international has scored five in his last six games. but was victim of Pep Guardiola's rotation at the weekend.

The 22-year-old was an unused substitute in the 3-0 win over Burnley and is a good bet to start the game ahead of Leroy Sane.

If selected, Sterling will switch flanks on multiple occasions and will be sure to give the Wolves wing-backs a testing night.

The forward gave Kieran Gibbs and Gareth McAuley a torrid time when City visited the Hawthorns last month - one to watch.

4. Gabriel Jesus

Jesus (AMA)

The Manchester City starlet has already scored 17 goals in 2017 and continues to take the Premier League by storm.

His rise to prominence shocked everyone last season, not least Sergio Aguero who was benched for a good portion of the season in favour of the then 19-year-old.

This season, the youngster has forged a superb partnership with the Argentine, but has also excelled as a lone striker when asked.

If Aguero is on the bench, it's likely Jesus will be asked to lead the line again.

The striker scored a brace in Brazil's recent 3-0 win over Chile and followed that up with a double against Stoke just three days later.

5. Yaya Toure

Yaya Toure (AMA)

The 34-year-old is another nailed on starter at the Etihad and is likely to be paired alongside Ilkay Gundogan.

Toure has been linked with a move to the MLS and is having to make-do with a back-up role at City this season.

His only start of the season came in the Carabao Cup together with two brief Premier League cameos.

But on his day, Toure can still be a force and will probably be handed the captain's armband on the night.

Despite not finding the net this season, the Ivory Coast international is still a major threat from set-pieces and could be on penalty duty.
