Steve Bull: I don't think I'd get in this Wolves team!

Today’s game against Preston represents another great test of Wolves’ credentials.

Preston have made a great start themselves and are fifth in the table – they’ve got a great defensive record so we know they’ll be hard.

But every game is going to be tough now – Wolves are up there to be shot at and everyone will want to beat the league leaders.

They’ve got to get ready for a battle week in, week out.

Teams will be trying harder against them. But it’s not about about them – it’s about what we’re doing that matters.

From a Wolves point of view if you’re looking to stay at the top of the league then you just have to keep doing the basics, keep doing what’s been successful for you so far and not get ahead of yourselves thinking you’ve won the league in October.

I’m sure the players won’t feel like that – Nuno will be keeping them grounded.

He takes every game as it comes, he’s not a showman and he doesn’t shout from the rooftops.

As a former player and now a supporter it’s so enjoyable watching them at the moment.

You turn up knowing you’re going to see entertaining football and more often than not they’re getting the results they need to.

How the front three have been combining is frightening.

It’s pure excitement watching them play – they’re buzzing all over the place like flies.

To be honest the way the front three play, I don’t think I’d get in the side!

The whole city is buzzing now. There are fans coming out of the woodwork and attendances are up, it’s great to see and it’s very interesting times right now.

Looking ahead there’s a great occasion on Tuesday night when Wolves take on Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.

It’s clearly down the list of priorities for both clubs and I’m sure that’ll be reflected in the team selections.

Nuno won’t be taking it lightly though. There are 6,000 fans going up to Manchester and whoever plays the players will be inspired by that.

Let’s give it a go and see if we can give them a scare. Look at what happened at Anfield in the FA Cup last season – you never know.
