The defender has started all three of Wolves' league games so far and is keen to make it four wins out of four against Cardiff today.

Miranda, a £2.5million signing from Portuguese club Rio Ave, said boss Nuno Espirito Santo's training ground methods have been key to their early success.

"Maybe nobody expects this so fast but it seems like we've played from last season with the system," Miranda said of Wolves' impressive adaptation to their new 3-4-3 formation.

"It's down to the head coach and the work on the training ground. Since day one the coach says what he wants to do. Every session, if we do something wrong the coach stops and says what we have to do."

"It was difficult for me to adapt but now we've all adapted and the results speak for themselves."

Miranda is enjoying English football and said the main difference between the Championship and the Portuguese top flight is its deeply competitive nature.

He added: "In these three games, for every game everybody told me it's going to be a tough game. And everybody say the same for Cardiff. So I know every match will be tough! And that's good, that's how the players can grow up and develop.

"I'm looking forward to continuing to playing in the Championship. It's a very good league.

"In Portugal maybe it's more technical, more tactical. Here every team can go to the Premier League and every team can go to League One!

"So every team in every match wants to win. In Portugal teams have respect for the big teams – here they have the respect but they attack and try and do damage.

"And there are more games! But all players want to play. It's better because some players don't like to train so much and like matches."

Wolves host Neil Warnock's Cardiff City today knowing victory could take them top of the table, depending on Ipswich's result at home to Brentford.

Miranda added: ""Our goal is to continue with our record but it will be a tough game, they have nine points as well.

"It will be a great match to watch. We have to, from the first minute, show we want to win in our home with our supporters.

"With the results it's easier for the supporters to help the team. Inside the pitch we'll do the best for our fans.

"Our goal is enter every match with the focus to win. Our mentality is to continue to grow up.

"We have to continue to work, set pieces we have to work more. But it's a natural process. The next game will be better – we're always getting better."
