The 20-year-old had been linked to Wolves earlier in the summer and with Helder Costa set to miss the first month of the season, the club have now made their move.

Nuno Espirito Santo knows the player very well, having played under him while on loan at Porto last season.

The impressive youngster delivered nine goals and seven assists in 35 appearances.

He also scored during Porto's 5-0 Champions League rout over Leicester City last December.

If a deal can be struck, Jota would be the fourth Portuguese player to join the Wolves revolution this summer alongside Ruben Vinagre, Roderick Miranda and Ruben Neves.
