Verdict: Wolves fans left bored to tears

Our fans attempt to sum up one of the dullest matches seen at Molineux in recent years.

What's your verdict on the match? A bore draw. The away draw at Blackburn was bad enough, but this must take the crown for worst game of the season.

No-one could really argue with the team that surprisingly won at Leeds starting again. However, I think we all realised that for them to 'click' twice was expecting a lot.

Lambert said he would pick his strongest team. If this was it, it shows what a poor squad we now have at our disposal. Disposal will be key this summer. I can only think of four players who finished the game that I would want to keep for next season.

As for the game, Blackburn seemed happy to play for the draw. Wolves created nothing, waiting until 92nd minute to have a shot on target. I cannot remember a Wolves corner, but may have dozed off a couple of times.

What must the ex-players, watching from the stands have thought about this? Every one of those would walk into this team, even though their legs have now gone!

This has been a horrible season, with a few highlights along the way. The home form has been mostly awful with Lambert's tactics more suited to counter attacking in away games. This is not good enough and if he cannot manage both scenarios, then neither is he. The jury is still out on that.

Who played well - and who didn't impress? Lonergan is not adequate cover for goalkeeper.

Williamson/Stearman did okay against very poor forwards. I got the impression this was Stearman's last home game, from his reaction at the end.

Dicko/Bodvarsson were playing off scraps the whole game. Weimann/Marshall didn't get into the game at all.

Edwards was anonymous. Saville was Saville. How he earns a living from football I will never know. How he gets into the starting XI gives me grave concerns about Lambert's judgement.

The other players were average, at best! The fans have shown faith in buying season tickets in high numbers. I want to see decisive action by the club now with both player incomings and outgoings.

I'd rather start again with a completely blank page, than see the same faces again come August.

What's your verdict on the match? Well that's 94 minutes of my life I'm never going to get back, a footballing feast that makes watching paint dry or back-to-back episodes of Judge Rinder a decent alternative.

We've all seen some dross at Molineux over the years, but that has got to be up there as one of the dullest games every played out at WV1.

Wolves looked toothless, lacking pace and imagination and Blackburn Rovers showed a surprising lack of urgency considering a win could well have propelled them out of the relegation zone and piled more pressure on Small Heath.

Should we have been surprised at our no-show? Not for me, it just underlines all of the things we've been talking about this season.

You could argue the same team that beat Leeds had earned the right to start, but that would be neglecting a few key things. The game at Elland Road suited a more defensive side that could counter-attack, yesterday relied more on Wolves forcing the game and unlocking a defence that was going to keep it tight and rely on set-pieces.

And that's exactly how it panned out. It took 94 minutes to register a shot on goal, although I'm questioning whether that was actually a cross from the out of sorts Cavaleiro.

He's not looking like a great £7m purchase at the moment and I can't tell whether it's a result of him having a sulk that Saville is starting in front of him, he genuinely isn't that good or he had £10k on a 0-0 yesterday.

Time and time again he picked out the wrong option, slowed play up or failed to deliver...you'd expect a lot better from a player with that price tag.

Cavaleiro wasn't the only one who was guilty of the above. Weimann, Saiss, Edwards and Bodvarsson all should have done better in the build-up to moves or when put in good attacking positions.

On a positive note, hopefully it underlines to the board and Lambert how short we are in key positions and the amount of surgery the first team need if we are going to get into the top half of the table and, secondly, in a position to push for the play-offs.

If the majority of those players are anywhere near the starting XI come August 2017 it will have been a very poor pre-season.

I'm just good glad I go to the majority of away games as if you're football fix was purely reserved to Molineux you'd be forgiven for turning to something more interesting like origami or taking the rubbish to the tip.

Who played well - and who didn't impress? The groundsmen, as the pitch looked everything the team wasn't...easy on the eye!

In terms of players, I suppose Stearman and Williamson were solid at the back.

What's your verdict on the match? I think the boos from the crowd when we all discovered we would have to endure an additional four minutes says all you need to know.

There was absolutely nothing memorable about this game to discuss as we walked out of the stadium.

And we weren't the only ones struggling to understand why we had given up precious hours of a sunny Saturday afternoon to watch that rubbish.

All around there were mutters of 'did we really only have one shot?' or 'that's two hours of my life I will never get back'.

I thought the utter dross that was Wigan at home on Valentine's night would be the ultimate low point of the year but it seems that this is the season that just keeps on giving and Wolves had one (please god only one) more dire performance up their sleeves.

Roll on Huddersfield at home on Tuesday night...or maybe not.

Who played well - and who didn't impress? Morgan Gibbs-White impressed during the short time he was on the pitch but he was the only one to show any real passion.

What's your verdict on the match? There's not much to really write about. If you went to the game, you know it was awful. If you were reading it on Twitter, you know it was awful. If you've read the reports, you know it was awful. It was just awful.

The only thing worse than the football was the cringeworthy attempts of the USA soccer fan trying to rouse applause at half time. Don't think I've ever seen the North Bank so quiet - and that says something.

I can't remember much of note to say about the game. But I'm not sure if that's because nothing really of note happened, or because I spent time trying to see whether there actually was 70 floodlights on the Steve Bull.

All jokes aside, yesterday was one of the poorest games I've seen. Blackburn couldn't afford to lose and we (as we have been for weeks it seems) were already on the sunny beaches. So devoid of ideas without a creative flair, it was tough to see where a goal might actually come from.

We came to life for about five minutes with a few attempts, but that's about all I can recall. If the players were showing Lambert that they are worthy of a shirt next season, most of them made his decision for him.

We can dwell on this season and 'what went wrong' for ages. I think the more important thing now is to just focus on what needs to improve next season.

With it looking unlikely that we will gain many more points looking at our remaining fixtures, I can't see the mood at home improving much.

Lambert and Fosun have a big task in the summer to build a squad with quality additions to be able to challenge. I hope Fosun were there yesterday to see just how much of a task they have.

Who played well - and who didn't impress? I can't really say anyone stood out. It's nice that we kept a clean sheet, but that's as far as it goes. I do think Coady is starting to find a niche in his new position, but it wasn't his best game either.

Worst performance goes to Lonergan needing three attempts to punch the ball off the top of the net. Painfully embarrassing, and his kicking wasn't much better. At one point, he must have thought the ball was a bomb, he was so scared to go and claim it.

Not a game to remember, story of the season at home, is it not?

Peter Abbott (London Wolves)

What's your verdict on the match? Fan talk pre-match was of Wolves doing Rovers a favour in order to make Blues' job harder and possibly help send them down. Ridiculous. More sensible discussion was around integrating some of the youngsters into the team now that we're safe, plus why can't we produce decent results at the Mol?

We would have loved half time fan talk to be about a cracking game that we couldn't keep our eyes off...unfortunately that couldn't be further from the truth. It was an extremely poor game, with fans querying the lack of entertainment at most home games this season and why we do so much better away.

It was the same line-up that produced last week's good performance at Leeds. Harry Burgoyne again warming the bench. Early re-shuffle with Doherty's injury meant Saville to full back and Cavaleiro on. His, the only shot on target and that after 90+2 minutes.

Dicko and Bodvarsson given a half each. Bod having one decent chance which went away from him. Weimann was very quiet.

The defence was generally okay but there was little creativity from midfield. Saiss looked unsure whether he was to help the defence or spray passes - mostly overhit. Strangely, Coady again looked better as the game wore on.

Who played well - and who didn't impress? Thought I would be struggling with man of the match after this performance but young substitute Morgan Gibbs-White shone through, quickly involved, full of energy and one half chance on the edge of the box.

Russ Evers (Hatherton Wolves)

What's your verdict on the match? The sun shone. The ref blew for the kick off and then for half time. Repeat for second half then we went home.

Chris Hughes

What's your verdict on the match? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
