Paul Lambert reacts to Wolves FA Cup draw

Paul Lambert says Wolves' potential FA Cup fourth round clash with Liverpool would be a 'huge tie' for the club.

Wolves could face the might of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool at Anfield after they were paired with either the Reds or Plymouth, whose third round replay takes place next Wednesday.

Lambert said there were absolutely no assumptions from him or Wolves that Liverpool would progress.

Klopp fielded the youngest team in the club's history for the 0-0 draw at Anfield on Sunday - and has hinted he'll play a young side again for the replay, which takes place next Wednesday and is live on BT Sport.

Lambert told the Express & Star it would be a tough tie, whoever won the replay.

"Everybody's assuming Liverpool will go through, but football never works like that," he said.

"The main thing for us is that we're through. Ninety per cent of people probably want the Liverpool tie to happen because of the stature of their club and the history behind it and the stadium they've got.

"But whoever we get it'll be tough.

"If it's Liverpool it's a glamour tie and a huge tie for us, with everything that surrounds it.

"If it's Plymouth it's a great game to go down there and it'd be a role reversal as the expectancy would be on us.

"We'll have to wait and see what happens next Wednesday."
