Wolves' Jack Price to join Yeovil on loan

The 21-year-old midfielder will spend up to seven games at Huish Park after failing to win a first-team place at Molineux this season, following his breakthrough campaign in 2013-14.

Head coach Kenny Jackett had said on Saturday that Price would have to fight for his place after slipping down the pecking order following the arrival of Tommy Rowe and George Saville and the form of Lee Evans alongside Kevin McDonald.

But he had a change of heart when the request came in earlier today as it guaranteed Price first-team football for a month.

"We had a request in this morning from Yeovil to take Jack," said Jackett.

"They specifically asked for him and they have injuries at the moment, so he'll go straight into their team, which is a good thing.

"He hasn't had the games yet this season and with our midfield looking good again.

"For us there is the possibility of him being involved there in seven games which is good and for the first two of those weeks, we don't play."

Price is set for his debut tomorrow night at home to Portsmouth in the Johnstone Paints Trophy, with games against Bradford, civentry, Crewe, Peterborough, Crawley and MK Dons to follow.

"To release him for no more than a month initially, will be a good thing because it gets him up and running in terms of game-time.

"He's had a solid pre-season and in his breakthrough season last year he did very well.

"Hopefully now he can build on that, and with this loan spell, he can be ready for if and when his opportunity comes this season because it's a long season.

"Both clubs will take it for a month and then assess it at the end of that time."
