Steve Bull: Wolves will back Kenny Jackett

Legend Steve Bull today re-assured Wolves fans owner Steve Morgan will back boss Kenny Jackett with cash – as striker Patrick Bamford decides his future.

Eight days before the transfer window shuts for permanent signings, Wolves have so far only got two free transfers to show for their summer-long trawl for additions in Tommy Rowe and Rajiv Van La Parra.

With a young striker seen as a priority, Wolves retain an interest in Chelsea's Bamford, who has stalled on a season-long loan to Middlesbrough with Wolves and other Championship clubs interested.

Wolves failed with a bid of around £1.25m to tempt Leicester into selling Chris Wood.

But club-record scorer and vice-president Bully, who is in regular contact with the Wolves owner and chairman, believes Jackett will provide funds for the right players.

"Steve Morgan is right behind Kenny Jackett and I think he will back him in the transfer market," said the former England international.

"I can see it as a supporter and as a vice-president and we're not far away, but maybe he just needs one or two experienced players."

Bull believes Jackett has won Morgan's trust with the reliability of his signings and the balance of his squad.

"New faces can improve the squad because they make people work harder for their shirts," he said. "But I think he can take 11 players out he's got another 11 of equal strength to put in with what's on the bench and the squad."

And Bully has been especially impressed with Van La Parra.

"Van La Parra has proved a superb signing and the way he's running at people, I can't see a defender who can live with him," he said.
