Kenny Jackett: Wolves are a match for Cardiff

The Bluebirds come to Molineux second in the early table with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to make it four games unbeaten in the Championship.

Head coach Jackett is expecting a bruising encounter against three-goal Kenwyne Jones and Co.

Jackett said: "Looking at the way they've started, this will be as big as anything we have faced and you wouldn't bet against them being right up there at the end.

"They'll be strong, hard to score against and they're good in both boxes so they'll take some stopping.

"They have the two best headers of a ball in the division in Sean Morrison and Kenwyne Jones.

"They'll be bigger, stronger and more powerful than Fulham and in every position, they have a very good, established Championship player at least."

But Jackett is keen to see how his confident side come through it as they bid to make it three wins out of three against relegated Premier League opposition, following Wednesday's controlled 1-0 win at Fulham.

He said: "I have got confidence in the players we have got. I feel in terms of what they did last season, I had every confidence they could do well again this season.

"We want to put on a really good show for our home supporters. We have to earn their respect and backing but we can do that with a good performance and a good result."

Jackett again stressed Wolves won't be throwing around the chequebook.

He said: "It's never easy to win games or score goals and those things aren't going to go away by waving the chequebook around.

"Fulham haven't got a point and have only scored once, and they spent £11m on a striker.

"Are we looking to strengthen? Of course we are."

Former Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is training with group three as a favour.

Jackett said: "His agent asked me if he could train for a few days, which as an ex-player, we're happy to let him. It's just doing him a favour at present as he tries to get fit."

Wolves are set to make a decision on freed Manchester City centre-back George Swan after a two-week trial. Recent trialist Max Clayton has joined Bolton on a similar basis.
