The 21-year-old, who has yet to make a first-team appearance for Wolves, has been included in Giovanni Trapattoni's 19-man squad for Ireland's friendly with Spain at New York's Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.

McCarey, who would be fourth choice at Molineux when all of the goalkeepers are fit, has been promoted from Noel King's under-21s.

The young shot-stopper's only senior experience so far has been four matches on loan at AFC Telford in spring 2011 and 14 League One games over two loan spells at Walsall last season.
