Wolves' Carl Ikeme keeping it mean
Carl Ikeme today insisted he is relishing the pressure of keeping Wolves' mean machine going.
Saturday's 1-0 win at Blackburn meant Wolves went into the international break with four clean sheets in their last five games to become the joint-third best defence in the Championship.
Ikeme has played a big part in keeping that mean streak, along with centre-backs Roger Johnson and Christophe Berra, to give them confidence ahead of the return to action at Huddersfield on Saturday, October 20.
"I enjoy it and find it quite exciting," said Ikeme. "I look forward to those situations knowing I've got to come out for crosses and so on.
"You know it's coming and we've also got a lot of height in the team as well. I don't feel nervous and I don't think we, as a team, feel nervous in these situations.
"Roger and Christophe are great and were heading everything away.
"The back four were quality performers again on Saturday and whoever was on the pitch were getting their tackles and blocks in.
"They've been brilliant in the last few games putting their bodies on the line and we've been reaping the rewards with some clean sheets.
"They have been keeping the ball away from me a lot. It's all about concentration because there are a lot of tight games in the Championship and you need to stay with it because one chance either way can win a game."
