Wolves winger Adam Hammill has insisted there is no pressure on him to commit his international future after receiving an England under-21 call-up.

The 23-year-old has been drafted into the squad for tonight's friendly against Iceland at Preston after injuries and Stuart Pearce's decision to rest some players.

Hammill is also eligible to play for Ireland through his late grandad, but has previously represented England at schoolboy - when he rejected Republic of Ireland overtures - and under-19s level when he was at Liverpool.

He said: "It's great to get a call-up, whether it's through injuries or whatever. There is an Irish connection but there's no pressure to pledge my allegiance."
