The 46-year-old, who also made more than 100 appearances for the Baggies as a player, takes charge of the Owls who currently sit second bottom in the Championship with just 28 points from 32 games.

Moore departs League One side Doncaster to take on the job at Hillsborough.

Another former Albion boss in Tony Pulis has already taken charge of the Yorkshire club this season, the Welshman joined in November 2020, but endured a tough spell before getting sacked in December having recorded just a solitary win from ten league games.

The Owls will be hoping Darren Moore provides a similar impact to his first spell in management, when he took over the Baggies in April 2018 following the sacking of Alan Pardew.

Moore guided the club to a number of fantastic results, but could not steer the side clear of relegation. He went on to secure a permanent role at The Hawthorns, but was sacked mid-way through the side's first Championship season, with the club fourth in the table.

The former defender went on to join Doncaster Rovers, guiding the club to a ninth-placed finish in his first campaign. This season, he had guided Rovers to sixth in League One after 28 games.
