The 25-year-old is set to join from Sheffield United in a deal which will see Oliver Burke go the other way.

Villa academy product Robinson scored three goals while on loan with the Baggies during the second half of last season, helping Slaven Bilic’s team secure promotion back to the Premier League.

He will become the third of last term’s loan stars to join on a permanent basis following the arrivals of Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana.

Talks are ongoing with Benfica over another season-long loan deal for Filip Krovinovic.

Burke will, meanwhile, depart the The Hawthorns after three unhappy years in which he started only two league matches.

The Scotland international became one of the most expensive signings in club history when he joined in a £15million deal from RB Leipzig but spent the past two seasons out on loan.
