Hard work’s key for ‘exceptional’ West Brom youngster Rayhaan Tulloch
Slaven Bilic believes ‘exceptional talent’ Rayhaan Tulloch will be an Albion success story if he continues to work hard.
The 19-year-old had drawn interest from the likes of Rangers, Bournemouth, Southampton, Newcastle and Sunderland before signing a new four-year deal at The Hawthorns earlier this week.
An England youth international, Tulloch shone for Albion’s under-23s before the Premier League 2 season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In 19 outings, the forward – who can play out wide or as a number 10, scored nine goals and registered four assists.
And Bilic believes it’s good news for both Albion and the player that Tulloch has committed his long-term future to the club.
“I am so happy about it,” the head coach said.
“Ray hasn’t played a lot, but he is the type of player that everyday puts a smile on your face.
“He is an exceptional talent. He has very quick feet, very good skill, a very good sense of the game.
“We are delighted and I am delighted he committed himself to us – especially nowadays when you see a lot of young players walking out of their clubs.
“It’s great for us but it is even better for him because he has got a big future here.
“We are trying to find room for young players - that is obvious.
“I am really happy for him and for us.
“He has a big, big future but only if he continues to work hard.”
“Bilic continued: “He (Tulloch) has improved a lot.
“When I arrived here, when I came here he was a kid.
“But he looks different now, he looks different on and off the pitch.
“If he continues to work as hard as he is working now it should be a really good story for West Brom and for Ray.”
