The Baggies had put in some sensational performances before football was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That has led to a fierce debate amongst fans as to who should be crowned Player of the Year with Matheus Pereira having dazzled while the likes of Sam Johnstone, Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley, Romaine Sawyers and Hal Robson-Kanu have all enjoyed stellar campaigns.

It is skipper Livermore, though, that gets Homer’s vote. He said: “Pereira is up there, but in the last few weeks he wasn’t performing at his best.

“You have to give Bartley some credit because he’s been a different player this season in defence.

“Jake Livermore has certainly grown into the captaincy role, he has been tremendous.

“Another front runner would be Semi Ajayi, he’s been a great discovery for what we paid for him, he’s been wonderful.

“Hal Robson-Kanu is a different player entirely as well, he’s led the line wonderfully and has got into double figures.

“There’s one or two contenders but so far my player of the season would be Livermore.

“He’s come to the fore as a captain and led the team by example. He’s driven the team forward, helped my Romaine Sawyers who compliment each other.”
