The 22-year-old centre-back has had spells at loan at Chesterfield, Hednesford Town, Forest Green Rovers and Walsall during his career.

But after making his Baggies debut in the FA Cup victory over Charlton on Sunday, the defender is keen to stay with the club rather than taking up another loan spell.

“Definitely (I’m happy to stay for the season),” he said. “I want to play for this club as many times as I can.

“After Charlton I celebrated with my family.

“But then it was time to reflect and hope for more in the future.”

The youngster may get his chance after Kieran Gibbs picked up his latest knock on New Years Day and manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed he will miss ‘four or five weeks.’

“He’s going to be out for, I don’t know, four or five weeks,” he said.

“It’s quite a long time.

“It’s his hamstring, the one he did against Swansea.”
