The Baggies will still produce a programme next season and Bowler is expected to write a column in it.

Known as the fount of all Albion knowledge, Bowler was first employed by the club in October 2000 by John Wile, who was chief executive at the time.

His programmes have since gone on to win a host of awards, including three last season.

Albion News was named Championship Programme of the Year by souvenir specialists M60 Programmes, Programme Monthly, and the Northern Programme Club.

Bowler has also taken the lead on initiatives like Download Albion, which aims to digitise the club's archives, and the project to give every player in the club's history, or their family, a special cap to mark their service.
