Rondon has been in fine form at Newcastle.

The Baggies striker is currently on a season-long loan at Newcastle and will finish the Premier League season with his temporary club on Sunday, May 12.

The Championship play-off final takes place on Monday, May 27, and the semi-finals take place in between that date and the season finishing on Sunday, May 5.

Despite being officially Albion’s player, Rondon will not be eligible for those games following a rule change last season.

All loans now extend right up to the next registration period begins, which means no returning loan player can play for their parent club until the next transfer window opens.

The EFL’s registration rules state: “A player whose standard loan expires (or terminates) at the end of the season of the transferee club but prior to the completion of the league matches of his transferor club (where it is a member club) will not be eligible to play in any remaining league matches for the transferor club in that season.”

However, Albion’s six loanees will all be available for the play-offs, meaning they will be able to call upon Dwight Gayle, Stefan Johansen, Jefferson Montero, Mason Holgate, Jacob Murphy and Tosin Adarabioyo.

Rondon still has one year left on his Albion contract but will be available for £16.5million this summer if the Baggies don’t win promotion, due to a release clause written into his deal.
