Daniel Sturridge given more time to respond to FA betting charge
Daniel Sturridge has been given more time to respond to an FA charge of misconduct over an alleged breach of betting rules.
The Liverpool striker allegedly broke strict FA rules during January this year when he joined Albion on loan until the end of the season.
Professional footballers are not allowed to gamble on any football activity or pass inside information onto others that allows them to bet.
Sturridge was charged after a lengthy FA investigation into his conduct and was initially given until November 20 to respond.
But his application for an extension has been accepted by the independent chairman of the Regulatory Commission and the new deadline is now 6pm on February, 11.
Sturridge denied ever placing a bet on football in a statement released after the charge.
