The Baggies have slipped to seventh in the table after a run of one win in six games, having failed to get back to winning ways at lowly Hull City on Saturday.

Albion’s inability to bounce back from recent setbacks has set alarm bells ringing, particularly after the club suffered such a long winless run last season.

But Moore believes his dressing room is full of characters capable of dealing with defeat in the right way.

And he says they are all working together in the changing room to improve performances and results.

“They are very honest with each other,” he said. “I like to think they keep each other sharp in terms of who they are as characters.

“They all understand the level that can get to.

“They do the talking among themselves which is good to see.

“It is an open dressing room and we feel can share our thoughts together as a group.

“We have got some wonderful characters in there. Some solid pros who are a credit to themselves with the career they have had so far.

“James Morrison, Wes Hoolahan, Jake Livermore, Gareth Barry, Chris Brunt – you look at those and they are solid boys.

“The younger guys that are in there with them are honest young boys and they come along with the wave.

“Sam Johnstone and Sam Field, I’m naming a few there but there is so many. Harvey (Barnes) has come in, Dwight (Gayle) has been a breath of fresh air.

“We feel that we can share our thoughts as a group.

“They bounce off one another and it’s what we want at the Albion. Long may that continue.”

Albion’s form has see-sawed dramatically in recent weeks.

After a run of one defeat in 10 league games took them into the automatic promotion spots, three defeats in four has left them outside of the top six.

But Moore believes his dressing room is not shying away from the challenge ahead, and their willingness to face up to it will stand them in good stead.

“It’s an ingredient in the squad that bodes well for the future,” he said. “We’re pleased to have that at West Brom. They train, they work hard and they enjoy it.”

n Albion’s under-21s travel to Accrington Stanley tonight for their second Checkatrade Trophy match of Northern Group C after beating Blackpool last time out.
