Darren Moore urges West Brom to move on as Jake Livermore apologises

Darren Moore has urged his Albion side to move on from their disappointing defeat away at Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

The Baggies were downed 1-0 at the DW Stadium by a Josh Windass goal in a feisty encounter.

It brought an end to Albion's seven-game unbeaten run in the league, but Moore wants his side to bounce back this week when they host fellow promotion-hopefuls Derby County and Blackburn Rovers at The Hawthorns.

"We’ve got to move on from this," said Moore. "I can’t get too low as I’ve not been too high with some of the performances we’ve had this season.

"I will analyse why it didn’t happen and areas where we could’ve been better and look to put them into practice because there’s one or two games like this lying ahead for us this season."

Albion will welcome the return of home comforts, because they've won their last five league games at The Hawthorns.

Conversely, Saturday's defeat to Wigan means they've only won two of their seven away fixtures this season.

But Moore is not yet concerned about the difference between his side's form home and away.

And he believes it's too early to question whether their troubles on the road will dent Albion's promotion aims.

"We’ve got a lot of traffic to get through before we get to that part of the season," he said. "We’ll concentrate on trying to win football matches and certain ways of winning games.

"If we get through the next four or five months and we’re still in this, it means we’re doing the right things at home and on the road."

Jake Livermore is suspended for Wednesday's match with Derby after being shown a soft second yellow card late on in the feisty encounter.

Livermore apologised to his team-mates in the dressing room after the game, and extended that apology to the fans when speaking to the Express & Star.

"Everyone's doing their own job," said the midfielder. "I made mistakes. He (the referee) may see it again and readdress it but it's done now so it is what it is

"I've apologised to my team-mates and I'll apologise to the fans. I've not seen it back myself.

"There was nothing but honesty in it. I wish I could have done more for the team before that."
