Kyle Bartley insists nobody is getting carried away inside the Albion dressing room – despite their encouraging start to the season.

The Baggies have entered the second international break second in the table after a seven-game unbeaten run in the league.

But more eye-catching than their position has been their exploits in front of goal, where they have netted 31 times.

That makes Darren Moore’s men the highest scoring side in the top five divisions.

Bartley scored the 31st of those league goals, looping a header into the far corner to wrap up a 4-1 win over Reading on Saturday.

But he says nobody will be resting on their laurels over the two-week break.

“We’re an attacking team, that’s how the boss has set us out to play,” said the summer signing. “Obviously it’s working at the moment.

“But there’s a long way to go, it’s a long season and nobody’s getting carried away. We’ll take it game by game.

“We’ve got a nice break now when we can get some work done on the training field and go into the Wigan game trying to get three more points.”

Albion have only played four teams in the current top half, and they’ve only won one of those fixtures.

However, they face three top-half teams in the space of eight days on their immediate return to action.

After a trip to Wigan is a midweek home match with Derby, followed by another home game against Blackburn Rovers.
