Former Wolves winger Bakary Sako on trial at West Brom

The 30-year-old free agent has been training with the Baggies this week at their facilities in Walsall and is currently under consideration for a short-term contract.

And Moore admitted he had been impressed by Sako in training following his release from Crystal Palace in the summer.

Albion have already handed a short-term contract to 36-year-old Wes Hoolahan after taking both him and defender Russell Martin on trial.

“He's had a couple of days [with us]," said Moore, when asked about Sako this morning. "He's been in training and that's where we are at the moment.

“We've just been having a look. He's wanted to come in and train and we've had a look at his fitness."

Moore says there are more free agents available than usual this season because of the earlier end date of the transfer window.

"This season is a bit unique because there are a lot of players out there on frees and available when the window is closed," said Moore.

“It's quite surprising really. Other clubs are looking at players and we're no different here at West Brom should the right ones present themselves.

“Usually when the window is closed, it's closed, but this year there are so many players out there on free transfers. If we can strengthen the team we'll strengthen it."

Moore has already handed trials to Martin Cranie, Nigel Reo-Coker, Kieran Richardson, Hoolahan, Martin, and Sako, but he said there had been others too.

“We've had one or two in that may have slipped through the radar," he added.

Sako spent three years at Wolves, racking up 124 appearances and 38 goals. He moved to Palace in 2015 before being released in the summer.

But Moore is unconcerned about his history at Albion's rivals. "We won't look at that," he said. "We just look at him as a player, the person, the man and that's all we're interested in."
