Barnes sparkled for Albion in a pulsating 4-2 win over an in-form Bristol City side at The Hawthorns tonight, setting up two goals and scoring one himself.

It lifted the Baggies up into third place in the Championship and extended their winning run at home to five games in all competitions.

Man of the match Barnes was the catalyst for Albion's victory but Moore says the 20-year-old still needs support to fulfill his huge potential this season, and he's willing to give him that.

"We're pleased that Harvey's with us and I hope he's enjoying his football," said Moore. "It looks like he's got the platform and the stage here.

"He's still a young man, we need to support him, we'll still keep working with him and give him all the tools to become a better player.

"We saw his talent last season at Barnsley, but we felt that could be a perfect fit at West Brom with the players we've got.

"At the moment it looks that way, he's gelling with his teammates, he's got a wonderful eye for goal, he's cool and composed in the final third and he presents a threat to the opposition."

Albion raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half thanks to two goals from Jay Rodriguez either side of a Dwight Gayle finish, but they were pegged back twice in the second half to set up a nervy finish.

"The game was never over because the threat they pose was always evident," said Moore. "I'm delighted because they're [Bristol City] a very good team.

"They're definitely one of the stronger teams in the division because they're settled.

"I'm happy with the goals we've scored, but we'll look back on those goals we conceded and try and improve there.

"We are a team in transition. It won't be a perfect fit over night.

"It's another win but again I'll jump back on the video tomorrow and analyse the game."

Robins boss Lee Johnson made two substitutions in the second half that made an impact, bringing on Niclas Eliasson, who set up their first goal, and Famara Diedhiou, who scored their second.

"You have to give credit to West Brom, they were slick in transition," said Johnson. "I didn't feel it was a game we deserved to be 3-0 down in, but a quality counter-attack and poor defending cost us which sometimes happens against this sort of opposition.

"We didn't do the basics well enough, but we finished the game stronger and created a lot of chances."
