The yellow and green third kit, which is back by popular demand after 12 years away, has been well received by supporters.

Albion teased the announcement of their new strip with a video of it being shown to legendary full-back Brendon Batson, who featured in the kit in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

“I love that strip,” he said, with the kit out of sight. “We used to think it was our lucky kit, hardly got beaten. Welcome back.”

The club then uploaded a longer video of Batson reminiscing about the strip once it had been released.

It's return is poignant in the same year Cyrille Regis passed away.

Together with manufacturers Puma, the Baggies have even swapped the Albion crest on the shirt for the iconic WBA logo from the 1970s, a detail that is also replicated on the socks.

The away strip is black with an electric blue stripe across the chest.

Albion launched the two kits together with the strapline, 'Cherish history. Embrace future'.

Both kits are available to buy online now at www.wbashop.co.uk, with deliveries landing the week commencing Monday, August 6.

Shirts will be in store from 9am on Saturday, August 4, the day Albion kick-off their Championship season at home to Bolton.

Shirts are priced at £50 for adults and £40 for juniors. Shorts are £25 for adults and £22 for juniors. Socks cost £10.
