The Baggies have confirmed the details of a fourth warm-up game this summer, and will be taking on their former captain’s Scottish outfit on Friday, July 20. Kick-off is 7.30pm.

The match is five days before the Dons begin their Europa League campaign, and comes in between Albion’s friendlies with Swindon (Saturday, July 14) and Barnsley (Tuesday, July 24).

The Baggies will kick-start their pre-season away at Barnet on Saturday, July 7, and are planning to announce the details of a home fixture at The Hawthorns on Saturday, July 28.

Head coach Darren Moore played with former club captain McInnes at The Hawthorns near the start of the century and was promoted to the Premier League alongside him as a player.

"Of course it will be great to see Derek again but more importantly, it will be a top work-out for our boys," said Moore.

"The match will be Aberdeen's final warm-up before their Europa League campaign begins and they will be at full tilt.

“It will be a really challenging test for us at that stage of our preparations and just what we need."

Albion are due back on Monday, June 25, and will be flying out to Portugal soon after for a five-day fitness camp.

Moore also intends to take his squad to Scotland for another training camp during the summer.
