Reid was named in the PFA Championship team of the year after scoring 19 goals and laying on seven assists for the Robins last season.

The 25-year-old was converted from midfield into a forward last summer, and took to his new role emphatically.

It’s been reported the Baggies have opened negotiations with a £7m bid, although no formal offer is believed to be on the table yet.

However, Albion are interested in Reid, and plan to chase the striker this summer in an effort to bolster their vulnerable frontline.

Salomon Rondon has a £16.5m release clause and is interesting West Ham, while Jay Rodriguez is wanted by hometown club Burnley.

Reid only has one year left on his contract and has so far refused to sign a new deal at Ashton Gate.

New boss Darren Moore is ramping up his search for recruits after the Baggies lost their first player last week when Jonny Evans joined Leicester for £3.5m.

He is also a fan of former Albion academy player Romaine Sawyers, who he knows well.

The 26-year-old, who also spent three seasons at Walsall, is currently at Brentford with former Saddlers boss Dean Smith.
