The Polish midfielder spent the season on loan at The Hawthorns from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Although his arrival was heralded as a huge coup, Krychowiak struggled to make the desired impact on the team during his time in the Black Country.

He laid on three assists and scored no goals in his 30 appearances for the club.

But even though he struggled to get into the team under Moore, and only started one game under him because Matt Phillips was injured, he believes the caretaker deserves the job.

"It was my last game today I’d like to thank all supporters staff and players for this season," said Krychowiak, on social media. "Even we failed to achieve the goal it was a pleasure and honor to play here.

"I wish Darren Moore to keep the job because he deserves it.

"All the best and I hope you will come back to the premier league next season because here is your place. Come on you baggies."

Albion picked up all of Krychowiak's £108,000-a-week wages for the season, meaning his loan spell cost the club more than £4million.

He played consistently under Tony Pulis, but was involved in a touchline bust-up with Alan Pardew during the team's 4-1 defeat at home to Leicester in March.

He was fined a week's wages after allegedly telling Pardew to "f*** off" and refusing to shake hands when he was substituted off.
