Dean Walton’s book, ‘Proud to be a Baggie’, is a pictorial history of Albion supporters that starts in the 1950s and continues right up to last season.

It is being launched in the marquee of the Fan Zone from 12pm ahead of the home match with Tottenham on Saturday, May 5.

A host of former players – including ‘Super’ Bob Taylor, Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown, and Peter Odemwingie –will be on hand as special guests to sign the books.

The foreword was written by the late Cyrille Regis in December 2017, a month before his untimely death, and the book is in memory of him.

"This book is a trip down memory lane for what I consider to be the most dedicated, crazy, fun-loving and passionate fans in the world of football," writes Regis.

The book is a follow-up to Walton’s first effort, ‘Born to be a Baggie’, which charted his 50-year obsession following the Albion through thick and thin.

‘Proud to be a Baggie’ is laden with images collected from a range of sources, including his dad, other supporters, the club, and the Express & Star archive.

It depicts the highs and the lows of following the Albion over the past 70-odd years and focuses particularly on various fancy dress themes and tours abroad.

'Proud to be a Baggie' is published by Amberley and retails at £14.99.
