James McClean says Albion’s upturn in form since Darren Moore took over has come because the team ‘actually know what we’re doing’.

The 28-year-old aimed the thinly-veiled jab at departed head coach Alan Pardew after yesterday’s stunning 1-0 win over Manchester United.

It means Moore has picked up four points in his first two games in charge following nine defeats in a row under Pardew.

McClean struggled for minutes under Pardew but has been reinstated to the line-up by the caretaker boss.

He was one of many impressive performers in blue and white at Old Trafford and says it’s easy to play for Moore, because of his character.

"He's got that likeable factor, so everyone's pulling in the same direction for him," McClean told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"In the past two games we've put on two good performances for him.

"It obviously helps when you go out on the pitch knowing what you're doing - as individuals and as a team.

"Since the big man's come in, we've worked in training on what we're doing defensively and what we're doing attackingly.

"In the past two games, we've shown we actually know what we're doing when we go out on the pitch, which obviously always helps."

Pardew’s disastrous reign came to an end after one win in 18 league games left the Baggies adrift at the bottom of the Premier League table and destined for relegation.
