Caretaker boss Darren Moore says there are a 'lot of hurdles' to overcome before he can contemplate whether he wants the Albion job permanently.

The 43-year-old, who held his first press conference as interim head coach today, was refused to be drawn on his future because his only focus at the moment is tomorrow's Swansea game.

After urging frustrated supporters to get back behind their club after a disastrous season, he promised fans he would meet the challenge head on, and vowed to do everything he can to end the nine-game losing streak.

Moore has always had ambitions of being a manager, and is going to take charge of the Baggies for the remaining six games of the season.

But when he was asked if he wanted the job permanently, he said: "It's probably not something that I can comment on.

"Anyone who knows me, knows all roads lead to the Swansea game. There's a lot of hurdles before anything like that.

"Time will take care of the rest. Let's just look at the Swansea game."

Moore has taken over the team following Alan Pardew's exit by mutual consent on Easter Monday.

A former fans favourite as a player, he's attempted to unite the club this week with a message of 'family', but he understands the supporters are hurting and wants to go down fighting.

"I get that," he said. "They know that with me, any challenge I'm hit with, I hit it head on.

"That's exactly what I'm doing tomorrow. I'm working hard for the football club. That won't be in short measures tomorrow.

"It's in my blood to want to do well and want to win. We've got six games remaining and we want to readdress the run of defeats we're on. We really do.

"You can't overstep the Swansea game because that's what is in front of you. Let's put all our commitment into that and see where it takes us."

Moore spent five years at The Hawthorns as a player before returning as a youth team coach.

He finds himself in charge after being promoted to first team coach by Pardew last November.

"The league fixtures don't stop," he said. "Time don't stop for no-one.

"We've got to continue and keep moving. Obviously it's disappointing when somebody loses their job - that goes for anybody - but I've been put into this position by the club.

"It feels good, really, really good. The week has gone well, the player's have been superb, they've done all we've asked of them this week.

"The staff have been superb, everything just continues as normal for the game tomorrow."

When he was asked about tomorrow's team selection, Moore kept his cards close to his chest.

Nacer Chadli and Sam Field could be fit enough to return to the bench, but Daniel Sturridge remains sidelined with his hamstring problem.

"Injury wise, obviously Chads is back in and around the squad now," said Moore. "As we know he's a fantastic player.

"Daniel's been back in and around training - he's not quite there yet - but he's making good progress.

"It's great to see them rubbing shoulders with the boys again. They're excellent players and hopefully next week we'll look a lot healthier."
