Ben Foster

The experienced keeper will no doubt have suitors, but after seven seasons at The Hawthorns he and his family are Albion fans and he’s happy in the Midlands.

With Boaz Myhill’s contract up in summer, now is the perfect time to find an up-and-coming keeper to hone his skills under Foster and push him next season.

At 35, the No.1 still has a few years left in him.

Craig Dawson

Keeping hold of Dawson will prove difficult because a number of clubs have started sniffing around him the more likely Albion’s relegation has become.

A reliable and versatile defender, he would be a useful squad player for many Premier League clubs.

But perhaps the promise of a regular berth in his preferred position of centre-back would be enough to keep him.

Sam Field

The young midfielder could be forgiven for feeling a tad frustrated.

Tony Pulis stopped him going out on loan in the summer, and then Alan Pardew forbade it in January.

However, neither manager has trusted him for long periods, but under Gary Megson we got a glimpse of his potential.

Field could flourish in the Championship if only someone would show some faith.

Chris Brunt

Albion are still going to need experience in the second tier though, and one of the few players who has come out of this season with reputation intact is Brunt.

He may not be able to play all 46 games (he turns 34 in December), but he’ll certainly be a useful voice of reason in the dressing room, particularly if the club lose a lot of experienced heads to other clubs or retirement.

Jay Rodriguez

The only natural finisher in the squad (apart from the perennially-crocked Daniel Sturridge) his form may have stuttered at times this season, but he’s also been shunted out to the wing on occasion.

We saw signs of his ability in January but he was then taken out of the team.

As long as he stays, he could be the striker to bag the necessary goals next season.
