Rock-bottom Albion were pegged back to lose 2-1 to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Here, we rate the players.

Jay Rodriguez put Albion ahead

BEN FOSTER

His error saw Bournemouth equalise and got the home crowd roaring. No goalkeeper would have saved Junior Stanislas’s winning free-kick, but this will go down as a game to forget for the 34-year-old. 5/10

CRAIG DAWSON

Did well for large spells of the game but, crucially, gave away the free-kick which Stanislas then expertly put away. He got booked for that foul on Josh King too. 6/10

JONNY EVANS

Made several important tackles and blocks. Him being taken off because of illness was swiftly followed by the Cherries making it 1-1. Not a mere coincidence. 7/10

AHMED HEGAZI

Won a lot of headers and played a part in keeping Callum Wilson quiet. Did not look quite as assured as Evans, though. 6/10

ALLAN NYOM

A favourite among Baggies fans, he made some promising runs down the right-hand side in the first half. His final ball lacked quality, though. 6/10

CLAUDIO YACOB

The Argentinian has always been a fiery character and wore his heart on his sleeve once again. Not the most technically sound, but you can never question his commitment to the cause. Definitely somebody the club should keep around for next season, which in all likelihood will be in the Championship. 7/10

JAKE LIVERMORE

Picked up a yellow card, bizarrely, despite him being the one fouled in the incident. Otherwise, the former Spurs man did not do much. 6/10

CHRIS BRUNT

Triggered a 12-month contract extension by playing here and his long balls over the top caused a few problems. 6/10

KIERAN GIBBS

His cross played a big part in Albion’s opener and he kept Jordon Ibe quiet, before Ibe switched to the other flank and got his goal. 7/10

SALOMON RONDON

Beat Ake in the air to put the ball on a plate for Rodriguez’s goal. Great work-rate. 7/10

JAY RODRIGUEZ

Got Albion’s goal, finishing calmly, and proved a handful on his return to the starting line-up. Like Rondon alongside him, he worked really hard. His willingness to play on the shoulder and run in behind kept Nathan Ake and Steve Cook firmly on their toes. Surprising to see him taken off late in the game. 7/10

Substitutes

Had a header cleared off the line right before the final whistle. 6/10

Hardly touched the ball. 5/10

Did not have an impact. 5/10
