Bong has reportedly accused Rodriguez of racial abuse and claims the Baggies man said: "You're black and you stink," during the game at The Hawthorns on Saturday.

Rodriguez has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, and claims he was simply saying Bong had bad breath.

Bong initially made the accusation on the pitch to referee Martin Atkinson, but has subsequently confirmed he would like the FA to investigate the allegations fully. And the full-back has been backed by the south coast club.

Brighton chief executive Paul Barber said, "Gaetan has the full support of everyone at the club through this process.

"The club will also assist The Football Association in their investigation, but at this stage we would prefer not to make any further comment until this process has concluded."
