Albion flew down to Devon last night and stayed in a hotel near the ground, but Evans did not travel after complaining of a sore foot in training yesterday.

The 30-year-old has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation in the lead up to the January window after Albion rejected bids from Arsenal, Leicester City, and Manchester City in the summer.

The Baggies are bracing themselves for more bids this month, with Baggies boss Alan Pardew admitting he might need to sell Evans in order to bolster his attacking options.

Manchester United and Everton are also reportedly interested.

Albion have tabled a £100,000-a-week contract for their skipper, but he is yet to sign it.

Evans was also injured during August towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Matt Phillips and Craig Dawson also miss today's third round clash with League Two Exeter due to a hamstring injury and fatigue respectively.

All three are expected to be available next weekend.
