Albion are considering rolling out their £45 under-11s season ticket throughout the whole of The Hawthorns.

At the moment, the special price which allows youngsters to see Premier League football for less than £2.50 a game is only available in the West Stand on Halford’s Lane.

It was introduced for this season by chief executive Martin Goodman alongside the creation of a family area in the West Stand.

But some families were disappointed it wasn’t made available in the other three stands, forcing them to move seats if they wanted the cheaper price.

And supporters questioned the legitimacy of the savings because a full price adult season ticket in the West Stand is £100 more expensive than it is in the Birmingham Road and Smethwick Ends.

However, after it proved popular in one stand, Goodman is now contemplating extending the offer to the whole ground.

"The U11 ticket has increased both adults and senior tickets in that area, so it is something we are considering rolling out into the other areas of The Hawthorns,” he said.

"We have learned from what we have done and we will look to put the best results into action in the season ticket campaign in 2018.”

Season ticket sales rose for the first time in five years this season after Goodman introduced an early-bird offering that saved all supporters five per cent.

The chief executive also reduced the price of the most expensive match day ticket from £39 to £35, and introduced a middle tier ticket for £30.

“Last season we had two tiers, a £25 ticket and a £39 one,” he said. “What we did this year is bring the top tier down to £35 and introduce another tier.

“Generally I think it’s worked well. It’s easier to slot games into three tiers of ticket prices rather than two.

“Stoke at £39 was difficult to sell. There are really only six Category A games a season that can drive match by match attendance. Hopefully, we’ve addressed the concerns.”

During the last campaign, loyal fans complained of a number of offers for single tickets that nullified the savings of buying a season ticket.

But Goodman confirmed season ticket holders would save more this time around.

“We will eat into part of the saving of the season ticket but not as much as last year,” he said. “Last year it ended up being only marginally cheaper (to buy a season ticket).”
