Southgate attended last night's 1-1 draw between Leicester and the Baggies at the King Power Stadium.

And the Daily Telegraph report that he cast an eye over Rodriguez after contacting former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino about the Baggies attacker.

Rodriguez has one England cap to his name, earned towards the end of 2013 when he was enjoying a stellar season for the Saints.

He was due to go to the World Cup in 2014 before a cruel knee injury robbed him of the chance.

Southgate has already recalled Jake Livermore to the England squad following his move to the Baggies.

It's believed he was also watching left-back Kieran Gibbs, who has 10 England caps, as well as Leicester's England internationals Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire.
