The 31-year-old was widely criticised following West Brom's 2-0 loss to Arsenal this week, failing to reward Jay Rodriguez a penalty kick after being brought down by Shkodran Mustafi in the ninth minute.

However, Baggies fans have taken to Wikipedia to mock the referee, hilariously altering his 'career' section on the site.

The site now reads that Madley was the best player in the win over Albion, before claiming that Arsene Wenger was keen to sign him permanently.

West Brom fans had their way with Madley's Wikipedia page.

"Madley made national headlines on 25th September 2017 when he was Arsenal's best player in a 2-0 home win over West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium." Read the page.

"Arsene Wenger confirmed that he is looking to sign Madley on a permanent basis when the transfer window re-opens in January 2018."

Rodriguez hit the post following the incident, but pundits and fans questioned the decision to allow play to continue.

A brace from Alexandre Lacazette secured all three points for The Gunners, although Tony Pulis claimed that his side deserved a penalty and also claimed Mustafi should have seen red for the challenge on Rodriguez.
