BEN FOSTER

Spent most of the game fetching the ball from the advertising hoardings, that's how woeful Burnley's finishing was. Clasped one Gudmundsson header, but even that might not have been on target. 6/10

ALLAN NYOM

Once again looked more comfortable at right-back. Few Burnley attacks came down that flank. 6/10

CRAIG DAWSON

Lost a couple of headers in the first half to Sam Vokes but was supreme in the backs-to-the-wall effort in the second half. Continues to build a strong partnership with Hegazi. 7/10

AHMED HEGAZI - Man of the match

Soldiered on after receiving a cut just above his eye, and made a match-high total of 11 clearances in the game. It's early days, but the Nesta of the Pyramids has hugely impressed in his opening two games and is quickly turning into a fan favourite. A man mountain at the back, he dealt with Sam Vokes better than anyone else. 7/10

CHRIS BRUNT

On his 500th career league game, it was his hooked ball forward that Matt Phillips nodded on for the goal. His corners were as dangerous as usual, although he wasted one free-kick. 6/10

GARETH BARRY

Made a couple of mistakes in the first half when Jack Cork skipped past him and Ben Mee lost him at a corner, but the 36-year-old grew into his debut, and was superb after the break. Which bodes well, as does his impressive range of passing. 6/10

MATT PHILLIPS

Fearless with the ball, Phillips makes things happen when he's in possession, even if it's just winning a corner. Won the header for the goal. 7/10

SAM FIELD

The youngster was more tenacious than he was on the opening day, and crucially, didn't look out of place in the midfield battle. An improvement. 6/10

JAKE LIVERMORE

The stand-in skipper was the most dynamic of the central midfielders and kept the tempo up. Lashed home a goal that was disallowed. 6/10

JAMES MCCLEAN

Fashioned himself an early chance by robbing Matt Lowton, and kept up that high-pressing game before he was taken off on the hour mark. 6/10

JAY RODRIGUEZ

Didn't get the service he needed to score against his home-town club and snatched at the only chance he had, which came quickly at him from a Brunt corner. But worked his socks off. 6/10

Substitutes

Hal Robson-Kanu (For McClean 63)

Sparked a dull game into life with a remarkable cameo. Scored a cracking goal but then got sent off for leading with his arm. 6/10

Salomon Rondon (For Field 84)

Albion were on the back foot at the end, so Rondon had little chance to make an impact. 5/10

Unused: Myhill, Wilson, Harper, Leko, Chadli.
