Although the 33-year-old turned down the Baggies to join the Potters on a free transfer this summer, he is still expected to get a warm reception in the third game of the season on Saturday, August 26.

Albion kick off the 2017/18 season with a home game against Bournemouth and enjoy back-to-back fixtures at The Hawthorns over Christmas.

The Baggies travel to newly-promoted Brighton and Hove Albion early in the season on Saturday, September 9, and visit Huddersfield Town on Saturday, November 4.

A Wembley trip is also on the cards for Tony Pulis' men on Saturday, November 25, as they travel to Spurs who are playing all their home games under the arch next season.

September’s trip to the Amex Stadium rounds off a relatively easy start for Albion, who host the Cherries on the opening day, August 12, before travelling to Burnley a week later.

Albion only face one of last season’s top seven in their opening nine games, when they travel to Arsenal on September 23.

Because of next summer’s World Cup in Russia, the Premier League’s festive schedule is particularly busy this season and the Baggies have seven games in December.

However, they will enjoy home comforts this season after being forced to travel on both Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve in the last campaign.

The Baggies host Everton on Boxing Day 2017 before welcoming Arsenal on Saturday, December 30. Two days later they visit West Ham on New Year’s Day.

Although it’s an easy start, Tony Pulis's men do have an incredibly tough run-in. Their last five games are away at Manchester United, home to Liverpool, away to Newcastle, home to Tottenham, and away at Crystal Palace.
