Tony Pulis has lashed out at keyboard warriors who don't attend games after praising the Albion fans who travelled to Turf Moor.

Pulis is aware he's been receiving criticism online recently, but he reckons the moaners need a 'reality check' with Albion currently sitting in eighth place.

He cares much more what the die-hard fans who pay their money think, and on Saturday, sections of the 2,500-strong away end in Burnley were singing his name when they were trailing 1-0 and the Baggies were bearing down on nearly nine hours without a goal.

Pulis praised the fans for their response, which he says helped his team score two goals in 12 second-half minutes to end the drought and turn the game on its head.

"I thought they were fantastic," he said. "When we went a goal down, their reaction to pushing the team on was wonderful.

"At the beginning of the season there was a little bit of apathy and everything around the place.

"But the majority of supporters have been fantastic. There's been a bit of moaning and groaning they tell me on the websites and the internet. People who don't go to games, they sit on there and try and do stuff.

"I'm not into it so I don't understand how it works but it seems to get out there and nobody knows who's saying it or doing it.

"But the people who have come (to Turf Moor) have been absolutely fantastic."

Pulis received volleys of abuse away at Bournemouth in September but his relationship with supporters has improved over the course of a successful season and Saturday's 2-2 draw keeps Albion eighth with three games to go.

Although the Baggies have only won one in nine, supporters seem to be more patient with him after an impressive four months between November and February lifted the club into the top half.

And Pulis reckons the 'moaners' should cast their eyes over a table released last week that reveals Albion are the biggest over-achievers in the Premier League based on their transfer spend.

"That list that came out last week is good, the points-per-pound you spend," he said. "That's a great reality check to all the supporters who might go away and moan and groan who are in the back end of the Premier League in respects of finance.

"There's lots of clubs who overachieve massively, but just because of the results they get pushed down instead of people scratching the surface and having a look at what is really happening.

"I wouldn't mind having the budget that some of the teams below us have got."

Meanwhile, Albion have been put on alert by Walter Mazzarri's decision to drop their top summer strike target Troy Deeney at the weekend.
