West Brom's Nacer Chadli is looking sharp for Spurs

The record signing got his Baggies career off to a scintillating start following his £13million move from Tottenham, scoring four goals in his first five games.

But he missed two matches in November after having minor surgery on his knee to trim away some cartilage, and hasn't looked the same since.

Chadli hasn't scored or laid on any assists since the middle of October, and lost his place in the team to James McClean for last weekend's FA Cup defeat to Derby.

But the Belgian looked dangerous off the bench in that game, and Kemp says he's back to his best in training.

"I'd agree he's been a bit hit and miss since his knee surgery," said Kemp. "It has taken him a while to get back to his level but I think there were signs on Saturday that he's getting back to form.

"When he came on as sub we started to see the sharpness again, and if selected this Saturday I'm hoping he's back to the level we saw before his injury.

"He's trained better since the weekend, he looks sharp again. I'm sure he'll have the bit between his teeth too.

"He set the bar high in those first few games and that's his standard as far as we're concerned. But he was out for three weeks, it takes a while to get over it."

Chadli may have been the marquee signing of last summer, but he's been overshadowed recently by the three other permanent additions.

"All three have been successes," said Kemp. "Matt Phillips goes without saying, Allan Nyom has done tremendous. Hal Robson-Kanu has been invaluable to the team and the squad."

Meanwhile, Albion target Morgan Schneiderlin is reported to be putting the final touches to a move from Manchester United to Everton after the clubs agreed a £22m fee.

Stoke have not yet made a formal bid for Saido Berahino, as reported elsewhere, although they remain interested in the striker.
