Darren Moore set to leave West Brom for Blackburn
West Brom hero Darren Moore was set to leave the Hawthorns today to join former team-mate Michael Appleton at Blackburn.
The former Baggies centre-back, who returned to the club last summer to work with the youth team, was expected to be appointed as Rovers' new first-team coach today.
Appleton is reshaping his backroom staff at Ewood Park after leaving Blackpool to replace Henning Berg in charge of the former Premier League champions.
Moore will work alongside Appleton and assistant Ashley Westwood as they attempt to revive Rovers' fortunes.
Moore became a cult hero at The Hawthorns during four and a half years as a player and returned last year after hanging up his boots.
He worked alongside James Shan coaching the Baggies' Under-18s team this season but made no secret of his wish to climb the coaching ladder.
Meanwhile, Markus Rosenberg's agent has claimed Albion have rejected approaches to take the Sweden international on loan.
Sampdoria and Villarreal have been linked with moves for the 30-year-old, who has been unable to make an impact in the Premier League.
He has been unable to secure regular first-team action with Shane Long and Romelu Lukaku sharing the central striking duties.
But Albion are set to stick with the former Ajax and Werder Bremen man with Peter Odemwingie's future still uncertain and Long only just returning from a spell out with a haematoma in his leg.
Agent Martin Dahlin told Swedish media: "Some clubs have enquired about him.
"I am not surprised since he has previously had good seasons in both Germany and Spain.
"He has been unlucky and has seen playing time limited since he joined West Brom when the season had almost started.
"He is in consideration for a place in the starting XI for his current club."
