The 20-year-old Albion ace has scored seven goals in 12 games, including the winner over Leeds yesterday in the 1-0 Championship victory.

"The club are pleased to confirm that Chris Wood's loan spell at The Den has been extended until January 1," a club statement read.

Meanwhile, David Luiz has admitted Chelsea's players and manager were involved in a furious dressing-room row following the 2-1 defeat at Albion, as the pressure begins to grow on Roberto Di Matteo.

In the last month, the Blues have surrendered their place at the top of the Premier League and will stand on the verge of being dumped out of the Champions League should they lose to Juventus in Turin tomorrow.

Tempers boiled over following the Hawthorns defeat, and Luiz, who has been widely criticised for his performances in recent weeks, admitted words were exchanged between players and staff.

When quizzed on the raised voices coming from the away dressing room, Luiz said: "We were upset, it is normal. We are disappointed as we should have won this game.

"Of course it's normal. This is a big club and you cannot lose games."
