Roy Hodgson is happy with his Albion squad – but still hopes to tempt Owen Hargreaves to the Hawthorns.

The Baggies boss confirmed he is no longer "actively seeking" players ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

But the club remain in talks with Hargreaves having offered the out-of-contract former England midfielder an incentive-based deal to join.

"I don't particularly want anyone," said Hodgson. "I'm pretty happy with the squad I've got. We're not actively seeking players.

"Owen Hargreaves is different because he's a player that's come onto the radar from afar, we didn't actively go out to seek him and we're not actively seeking other players.

"We have the players we want and if anything happened now it would be if we were raided for one or two players and were short in an area."
