A run of just one win in 10 games prior to their 2-1 win at rivals Shrewsbury Town on Saturday has threatened to derail their promotion push.

In two months, Walsall plummeted from the league summit into 10th, where they still remain, albeit level on points with Barnet and Chesterfield directly above them.

Searching for first home win of 2026

It's still tight and Walsall are firmly in the mix, but they must back up their latest victory when Fleetwood Town visit Bescot under the lights on Tuesday night.

But home form has proven a major issue, especially since the turn of the year. Walsall are yet to taste victory on home soil in 2026 and are winless in five games at Bescot overall (drawing twice, losing three).

Walsall have not won on home soil since beating Crewe Alexandra 1-0 on Boxing Day.

In fact, since winning five of their opening six fixtures in League Two at home, Walsall have collected just two wins in the last 10 league games at WS1.

Home form needs to be the backbone of any promotion push and those foundations have crumbled dramatically in recent months.

Sadler not out of the woods (yet!)
